3. Copyright, Open Access & Licensing

3.1 Copyright

Unless otherwise specified under a particular publication agreement, authors retain copyright in their scholarly work. Authors must ensure that they possess the rights necessary to submit and publish the manuscript and any accompanying material.

3.2 Licence to Publish

By proceeding with publication, authors grant the relevant publication entity the rights necessary to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, preserve, archive, register metadata, and facilitate scholarly discovery of the work, subject to the applicable publication agreement and licence.

3.3 Open Access

UFCP supports responsible open-access scholarly communication and encourages the broad dissemination and discoverability of research. For works published through United Frontiers Conference Proceedings (UFCP) or other designated open-access publication channels, the applicable open-access and licensing terms will be clearly displayed with the published work.

For external or partner journals, the respective publisher's copyright, open-access, and licensing policies apply.

3.4 Creative Commons Licensing

Where a work is published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, readers may share and adapt the work provided that appropriate attribution is given, a link to the applicable licence is provided, and changes are indicated where required. The specific licence displayed on the published version of record governs reuse.

3.5 Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining appropriate permission for copyrighted figures, tables, photographs, instruments, substantial text extracts, datasets, or other third-party material where permission is legally required.

All third-party material must be appropriately acknowledged and attributed.
