Overview
This policy establishes the general academic and review framework for UF-AALR conferences and scholarly events. It applies to abstracts, conference papers, proceedings submissions, and other scholarly materials submitted for consideration through UF-AALR academic events.
Initial Screening
Submissions may be screened for relevance, completeness, originality, basic scholarly quality, ethical concerns, formatting and compliance with the conference requirements.
Peer Review
Where peer review is required, UF-AALR and/or the designated conference editorial or scientific committee will appoint reviewers with relevant subject expertise. The review model may vary by conference and will be communicated through the relevant conference information or Call for Papers. Reviews should be objective, constructive, confidential, and free from inappropriate influence or conflicts of interest.
Decisions
Decisions may include acceptance, acceptance subject to revision, redirection to another track or rejection. Decisions are based on academic merit, relevance, methodological quality, ethical compliance and available program capacity.
Proceedings
Inclusion in conference proceedings may be subject to acceptance, presentation, registration, completion of required revisions, submission of final files, metadata requirements, and other conference-specific publication conditions. Where applicable, proceedings volumes may receive an ISBN and individual published contributions may receive DOIs. ISBNs and DOIs are bibliographic or persistent identifiers and must not be represented as evidence of database indexing.
Journal Opportunities
Selected high-quality papers may be invited or referred for consideration by suitable Scopus- or Web of Science-indexed journals, where available. Such referral is not journal acceptance; the journal independently determines peer review, revisions, fees, acceptance and publication.

Reasoned concerns about UF-AALR conference or proceedings decisions may be sent to contactuf.aalr@gmail.com. Appeals concerning an independent journal must be directed to that journal or publisher.
