About SHIFTS 2026

SHIFTS 2026 will be held on 12–13 December 2026 in Manado, Indonesia, with online participation available.

The conference brings together researchers, scholars, practitioners, and institutions from around the world to exchange research, innovative ideas, and real-world perspectives across the social sciences and humanities. Through multidisciplinary parallel sessions, SHIFTS 2026 provides opportunities for academic dialogue, international networking, research collaboration, and scholarly publication.

With a focus on Innovation, Future Technologies, Sustainability, Islamic Perspectives, and Religious Harmony, SHIFTS 2026 explores emerging trends, contemporary challenges, and transformative approaches shaping societies and institutions worldwide, while fostering dialogue across disciplines, cultures, faiths, and communities.

Proceedings & Publication Opportunities

Conference Abstract / Proceedings
Accepted abstracts/papers may be included in the official conference abstract book or proceedings following the conference review and production process. DOI or other identifiers should be stated only where actually assigned.
Journal Publication Opportunities
Authors of selected conference papers may be offered opportunities to submit extended manuscripts to suitable peer-reviewed journals. Any journal submission remains subject to the journal’s scope, peer-review process, editorial policies, independent editorial decision, and applicable publication charges.
Scopus / Web of Science Opportunities
Selected papers may be considered for submission to Scopus- or Web of Science-indexed journals, where suitable opportunities are available. Publication and continued indexing are not guaranteed and remain subject to journal scope, peer review, editorial acceptance, and applicable terms/APCs.

Bank/AliPay/WeChat Transfer in USD, IDR, RMB and PayPal payment may also be facilitated upon request.   • Registration is confirmed only after the required registration information and payment have been received and verified.
  • Bank, card, transfer, currency-conversion, or intermediary charges are the responsibility of the participant unless otherwise stated.
  • Fees are generally non-refundable after payment. If a participant cannot attend in person, the organizer may, where operationally possible, offer virtual participation or conference credit. Any exception remains at the organizer’s discretion.
  • Registration may not be transferred to another person without prior written approval.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring their name, affiliation, email, and certificate details are correct.

Registered participants with an accepted abstract or confirmed participation may request an official conference invitation/support letter for visa or institutional purposes.

The hybrid conference will take place in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi, is a vibrant coastal city located at the northern tip of Sulawesi Island. Surrounded by tropical landscapes, volcanic highlands, and the Celebes Sea, Manado is renowned for its cultural diversity, warm hospitality, distinctive cuisine, and spectacular marine environment. The city is also the principal gateway to Bunaken National Park, one of Indonesia’s best-known marine destinations and an internationally renowned location for diving and snorkeling.

The conference will be hosted at Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Manado – State Islamic Institute of Manado, a state Islamic higher-education institution in North Sulawesi. The university provides an excellent academic environment for international scholarly exchange, interdisciplinary discussion, networking, and collaboration.

Complimentary lunch and coffee breaks will be provided to all registered in-person participants during the main conference days.

Conference participants will be served lunch at no additional charge, together with coffee/tea breaks and light refreshments between conference sessions.

Please note that accommodation is not included in the conference registration. Participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own accommodation.

Conference participants should book their accommodation directly with their preferred hotel. Hotel rates, room availability, breakfast arrangements, cancellation policies, and airport transfers are determined independently by each hotel and may change according to the booking period.
